Our Approach to Treatment

Comprehensive Consultation

We begin with a thorough assessment of your back or pelvic symptoms, listening closely to your story and goals. Through guided movements and specific positioning, we observe how your pain and mobility respond. This gives us valuable insight into your spine or pelvic floor condition and how to best support your recovery.

Customized Spine & Pelvic Therapy Plan

Your treatment plan is built specifically for you. Not just your diagnosis. Whether you’re dealing with persistent back pain, sciatica, or pelvic floor dysfunction, we focus first on relieving symptoms, then restoring mobility and function, and finally build strength to support the spine and pelvic health for the long haul.

Lasting Relief Through Movement & Education

At Mindful Movement Physical Therapy, our goal is to help you take control of your symptoms. We’ll equip you with movement strategies, education, and tools to manage flare-ups, prevent recurrence, and keep you confidently active for the long run.

Physical Therapy for Sciatica and Herniated Discs

Sciatica and herniated discs are common terms associated with lower back pain – and for some people, they can significantly impact daily life. But here’s the thing: sciatica is actually an umbrella term for pain, numbness, tingling, or weakness that radiates into the leg. The true source of these symptoms could stem from your spine, hip, pelvic floor, nervous system – or a combination of these areas. That’s why sciatica can sometimes feel tricky, frustrating, and stubborn.

At Mindful Movement Physical Therapy, our priority is to identify and treat the correct source(s) of your symptoms. We take the time to thoroughly assess your situation and design a personalized plan to guide you toward lasting healing. If you’re experiencing leg pain, numbness, or weakness, don’t hesitate to book an assessment with us!

Mindful Movement Physical Therapy helps herniated discs and sciatica

A Quick Fact About Herniated Discs

Only about 1–3% of lower back pain cases are due to a true disc herniation and not all herniations cause pain! Even if you do have a painful disc herniation, there’s good news: many herniations can naturally resorb over time and this allows your pain and symptoms to improve without surgery or expensive procedures.

At Mindful Movement Physical Therapy, we work closely with you to understand your back and/or leg symptoms caused by your disc herniation, and create a supportive healing environment that minimizes fear and worry. Treatment may include targeted exercises, manual therapy, education, spinal and pelvic mobility work, mindfulness techniques, and posture correction when needed to help you reduce your pain on your own.

Every treatment plan is tailored to your body and your goals – whether that’s getting back to your favorite workouts or simply walking without pain. With expert care and consistent movement, many of our clients find lasting relief without the need for injections or surgery.

So if you’re struggling with back pain, sciatica, or a herniated disc, we’re here to help you move better and feel better, starting from the very first visit. Let’s get you back out on the trail or in the gym.
