The Mindful Movement Therapist

With over a decade of working as a physical therapist in Texas and Utah, owner and physical therapist Dr. Emily Warren founded Mindful Movement Physical Therapy in 2021. She began working in her office space in her backyard and her practice has now grown to two locations: Sugarhouse and Holladay, Utah, as well as seeing clients virtually.
Emily’s mission is to deliver exceptional, personalized care that prioritizes long-term well-being, fosters confidence in yourself and your body’s ability to heal itself, and delivers measurable results that truly matter to your life.

About Emily

Dr. Emily Warren graduated from the University of Oklahoma in 2012 and has been practicing PT ever since. Emily got her start in inpatient rehab, working with brain injury, stroke, and spinal cord injuries. Neuro was her first love as a PT, and she gained a HUGE appreciation for how the brain is the powerhouse for our movement system, as well as our pain system.
In 2020, she made a transition into orthopedics with a focus on the spine. Back and neck pain were common problems of her clients, and she found the standard care of the medical system disappointing and ineffective with helping people in pain.
Emily became credentialed in Mechanical Diagnosis and Therapy, as well as certifications in Professional Yoga Therapy, Trauma-Informed Yoga Therapy, and Happy Back Yoga. She blends her knowledge of physical therapy, the human body, and yoga to provide whole-person care to help clients get back to doing what they love, for the long haul.
When she’s not helping clients, Emily loves trail running, cycling, gardening, camping, hiking, and traveling with her family. She met her husband while in PT school, and they have two spunky girls that can hold their own on their bikes and on the dance floor.
"I believe that there is no universal approach to therapy. I tailor high quality sessions specifically for each client, to reflect his or her individual personality and needs."

Why Patients Choose Mindful Movement PT

What Makes Our Physical Therapy Different?

At Mindful Movement PT, we go beyond cookie-cutter treatment plans. Dr. Emily Warren, PT, DPT  delivers personalized care rooted in science, compassion, and the belief that you are not your pain. Every evaluation begins with the McKenzie Method to pinpoint the mechanical source of your pain. If you don’t respond to that, we’ll pivot.

Do You Offer Mindfulness-Based Pain Relief?

Yes – Dr. Warren firmly believes in mindfulness! When traditional methods need support, we incorporate nervous system-based treatments like Feldenkrais and Franklin Method exercises, as well as yoga therapy and trauma-informed mindfulness. These strategies help calm the pain system and address the whole person – mind and body.

Is This Physical Therapy Right for Me?

Maybe you’ve tried PT before and it didn’t work. Don’t give up. Dr. Emily Warren specialize in helping people who haven’t found relief elsewhere. Whether you’re dealing with chronic back pain, pelvic floor dysfunction, or stress-related tension, our team is here to help you move well and live well.
