Good class fit: medically stable osteopenia/osteoporosis, low bone density, or postmenopausal bone-loss concerns with a desire to strength train safely.

Start with 1-on-1 first: recent fracture, significant balance concern, high fear of lifting, new severe pain, or complex spine history.

If you have DEXA results, bring them or have them handy. Emily can help you decide whether class or one-on-one PT is the better starting point.

What BoneFit contributes

BoneFit helps clinicians understand osteoporosis precautions, spine-safe movement, fracture-risk considerations, balance training, posture, and exercise modification. It is especially helpful when someone has pain, fear, prior fractures, or uncertainty about what movements are safe.

What LIFTMOR contributes

LIFTMOR showed that supervised, progressive, high-intensity resistance and impact training can be safe and effective for postmenopausal women with low bone mass when screening and coaching are done well.

How MMPT uses both

Mindful Movement PT uses BoneFit-informed safety principles and LIFTMOR-style loading foundations. That means the goal is not to copy a protocol blindly. The goal is to apply the right dose of loading to the right person at the right time.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is BoneFit a class?

No. BoneFit is professional training for clinicians. MMPT’s Bone Builder class uses BoneFit-informed principles.

Is LIFTMOR safe to do on my own?

The research protocol was supervised. If you have osteoporosis or osteopenia, it is wise to get coaching before trying high-intensity loading on your own.

Which matters more, BoneFit or LIFTMOR?

They answer different questions. BoneFit helps with safety and clinical decision-making. LIFTMOR helps show why progressive loading can matter for bone adaptation.
